Hourig Sourouzian: Resurrection

As orange juice arrived, I asked about Sourouzian's background, reminding her of our first encounter at the German Archaeological Institute, when I had mistaken her for an Egyptian. 'My father's family was massacred by the Turks in 1915,' she said. 'He was the only survivor and was taken to a Syrian orphanage where he met the daughter of another survivor who had married and had children there...
