His Holiness Aram I transits In Dubai

 
His Holiness Catholicos of Cilicia Aram I, in his capacity as the Moderator of the Would Council of Churches (WCC)will fly to Korea (via Dubai) and join the General Secretary of WCC Rev. Dr Samuel Kobia in Seoul.

They will attend a seminar on “New vision and challenges to ecumenism in the 21st century”, where they will deliver the opening address and keynote speech respectively, marking the beginning of the 80th anniversary celebrations of the National Council of Churches in Korea (NCCK). A courtesy call to the President of the Republic of Korea, Roh Moo-hyun, is also expected.

The seminar will be followed by the meeting of the Executive Committee of WWC (24-27 August, 2004, Seoul), during which current peace and reconciliation initiatives will be discussed, WCC programmes and relationships with its member churches, etc. This will be the last executive committee meeting before the full central committee comes together in February 2005.

On the outbound flight (Beirut-Dubai-Seoul) to Korea, Aram I will make a stop over of 2 hours in Dubai (21 August, 01:00 a.m.). During his return flight which arrives on 28th August 01:15 a.m., His Holiness will stay in Dubai for two days, after which he will proceed to Zurich on 30th August, early morning time.

We are confident that the Armenian Community's Council and the members of the Armenian Community will do their best so that His Holiness will have a pleasant stay in Dubai. AZAD-HYE.
